Relay for Life Team Dot/Dan hits $5,000

The Columbus Relay for Life Team Dot/Dan knows how to get things done.
After meeting its initial goal of $3,000 early on, the team doubled-down and set its sites on a new mark of $5,000.
Before fundraising efforts at the NITRO National Hillclimb a few weeks ago and Tuesday’s bake sale, the team was sitting at $4,066.06.
As of Wednesday, that new total was approximately $5,266.
That puts the team in the top of all 170 participating in the Yellowstone County event.
Team captain Frankie Edwards and co-captain Connie Green said they are overwhelmed with the support of the community. The bake sale in particular netted just more than $600 and was filled with baked and gourmet goodies prepared and donated by the likes of family, friends, Project Hope, co-workers at the Columbus IGA and strangers.
The team is comprised of Columbus IGA employees and family members who have been personally touched by cancer.
The team is named in memory of Chris Remond’s son, Dan Gladney, and Marko Fangsrud’s wife, Dorothy, both of whom passed away in the last year to cancer.
Edwards is a cancer survivor herself and with Connie Green has been participating in the world-wide event for the past three years. This year’s theme is “Calling All Angels.”
