Ivan Balch 81 of Columbus passed away Sunday May 10, 2015 at Stillwater Billings Clinic.
He was born December 15, 1933 at home in Outagamie County, Wisconsin to Lester and Frances Balch.
Ivan was a garden tractor puller, he built his own tractors and eliminators. He was a member of the Rock County Pullers. After working for Madison Truck for 31 years he retired with his wife to Montana.
He started working, again, for Stillwater County as an equipment operator in the roads and bridges department.
Ivan enjoyed being outdoors and in the mountains hunting and fishing and spending time at Cooney. He will always be remembered for his practical jokes, humor and his great baking. Ivan loved reading western books and watching western movies.
After retiring for a second time, Ivan enjoyed going to coffee with his old retired cronies, Ivan was a great support for his wife Mary.
He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Vi.
Ivan is survived by his wife Mary Balch of Columbus, daughter Sandi (Wade) Vance of IL, five sisters; Sylvia Wendtland of WI, Anna (Steve) Summers of WI, Ila Scott of MI, Donna Wendtland of CA and Mabel (Burt) Erickson of CA as well as two grand daughters and four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date.
