Second Amendment focus of February “Politics and Eggs”

Great attendance to hear H. Paul Payne, NRA Liaison to Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre. When Paul asked me what to cover, I responded with how can individuals best help in protecting the 2nd Amendment. So with that said, the theme for the third program of “Politics and Eggs Breakfast-Montana Style” was set into motion. PRO- 2nd Amendment – Activist – Advocate.
This discussion was taking place in December for the February event. Perfect timing because the first Saturday of February would be the birthday of our 40th U. S. President Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) known as “The Great Communicator.” Paul quoted several great quotes from Reagan on the subject of the 2nd Amendment.
Several points of interest about those in attendance cross my mind. First, I met people for the first time traveling from Big Timber, Reed Point, Billings and yes, Gillette, Wyo., plus Absarokee and Columbus. The arrangement of the room was individual tables (four to a table) allowing easy conversation with the attendees ( talking with one another – no cell phones ). Yeah!
Speakers for March, April and May are in place. “Your Child’s Education K-12” plus an update on “Common Core” and “Every Student Succeed Act” (ESSA) will be the topic on March 5 event, with guest speaker being Rep. Debra Lamm. Elected to “Legislative Service” House: 2015 she is vice chair on the Education Committee with additional committees of Local Government and State Administration.
To the team of Stillwater Republican Women, thank you for your support in making “Politics and Eggs Breakfast-Montana Style” a great informative event that is open to the public (men, women, youth). Find SRW on Facebook – RSVP and then remit payment for upcoming programs. In closing, a big thank you to Chad and Jill for opening their restaurant for our event. Since again Tanya, Kim and their crew provided an excellent breakfast and service.
