The Lord took our beloved shepherd, Rebecca Ann Daniels (Grammy) home to walk with the angels on June 16, 2016.
Her life began in Lewistown, born to Darlene and Thomas Dudley of Grass Range. She graduated high school in 1970 from Columbus, Mont., where she later lived and raised three amazing and independent children. Becky had deep ties in the community and touched the lives of many. She was an angel to those who had lost their way. She was an inspiration to all of us.
As a single mother of three she also worked a full-time job, went to college and raised a family. She was lovingly known to many young people as their second mom. Through all of her trials and tribulations she never let herself be a victim of circumstance. Instead she picked herself up by her bootstraps, grabbed the torch and lit the way for many who knew her. The good Lord gave her a big dose of grit and perseverance.
Later in life she graduated college and discovered another passion, teaching special needs children in Montana and Wyoming. She made such a difference in so many young people’s lives.
She was devout Christian and gave her life to Christ many years ago. She loved to spend quiet time reading the Bible and sipping coffee. She loved the mountains and spending time camping and fishing. At home she loved to plant flowers. She had a green thumb like no other.
Above all, her most cherished times were those spent with her family, children and grandchildren. She lived simply and loved unconditionally. Her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as “Grammy” or Gramma Becky. She loved to eat ice cream and take naps with the little ones. She never took extravagant vacations or craved material things. Instead Jesus Christ and her family were the center of her universe.
The world is a better place because of such a fine woman, Rebecca Ann Daniels. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Thad (Jen) Daniels; Two daughters Sarah (Brent Berg) and Katie Daniels and eight grandchildren (Kaeden, Avery, Taylor, Wyatt, Hattie, Rebekkah, Rhyder and Lacy). She is also survived by her sister Julie (Jeff Dinsdale) and their children (Shannon and Desiree).
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jamie.
A viewing will be held prior to the funeral Thursday night, June 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Columbus. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, at 10 a.m., at the Columbus Evangelical Church at 2 East First Ave. North.
There will also be a lunch served after the burial at the church. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Granite Peak Little League, P.O. Box 1312 Columbus, MT, 59019, or Tourette’s Association of America (email@example.com) 40-42 Bell Blvd. Suite 205, Bayside, N.Y. 11361-2828.
