Dorothy Jane Robbins, 94, passed away peacefully at Stillwater Billings Clinic in Columbus on Jan. 20, 2018. Jane, as everyone knew her, was born Feb. 21, 1923, to David J. and Ida F. Jones at their homestead on Huntley Butte near Absarokee, Mont. She grew up with older siblings Robert, Pearl, Roy, Ruby, and Stella.
Jane met Jay Robbins at a dance at Dean. Their 50 years of marriage began on Oct. 19, 1941. To this union, three children were born – Bill, Jack, and Judy.
Jane worked for the local telephone company until moving to a ranch on Grove Creek out of Absarokee. They later moved into Absarokee where she baby-sat for several children in her home. She had very fond memories of these children.
After her husband’s death in 1990, Jane moved to Homestead Lodge where she enjoyed her family, friends, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.
Preceding Jane in death are her son, Bill; husband, Jay; parents; and all her siblings.
Jane is survived by her son, Jack (Karen), and children Curt (Ardona), Sheri (Jim), and Will (Sue); daughter Judy, and children Kelley (Chris), Kerry, Kristen (Shane), and Bryan; 15 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
