Absarokee girl crowned county spelling bee champ

On the last night of February, 23 middle schoolers from across the county gathered in Columbus to demonstrate their command of the English language at the Stillwater County Spelling Bee.
After six rounds, Absarokee eighth grader Adree Langley was named the champion after correctly spelling “impeccable.”
The runner-up was Claire Hatch, also an eighth grader from Absarokee.
Langley has earned the opportunity to represent Stillwater County in the state-wide spelling bee on Saturday, March 17. The bee will be held at Rocky Mountain College in Billings.
Hatch is the county’s alternate for the state bee.
