Boba Gail Cooper, 79, passed away on May 16, 2016, at her home in Carlsbad, N.M.

Boba Gail Cooper was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Hamlin, Texas, to Jessie and Maggie (Fulcher) Bush. She and her family moved to Carlsbad, N.M. when she was two years old. She was raised and educated in Carlsbad.
Boba met the love of her life Billy W. Cooper, and they were married on Dec. 24, 1953, in Carlsbad. She was employed by GTE for many years.
She was also employed as a bookkeeper at Texas Street Lumber and a school bus aide. Boba was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Boba loved spending time with her family and friends and always had a close relationship with her in-laws. Most of all she had a special bond with her four grandchildren.
Boba loved bingo and was an avid NASCAR and NFL football fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill Cooper; sisters Colleen Bush, Ramona Rich and Lana Phillippi; brothers Glenn, Don and JL Bush; granddaughter LaShae Wilcox (Lihosit); and best friend/sister-in-law Judy Bush.
Survivors include son Mike Cooper and wife Laurie; daughter Kristi Lihosit and husband John; brother Jimmy Bush; grandchildren Kellie Cooper, Bobbi Jo McKean, John Cooper, Ashley Pietras, Caila Carreno; LaShae’s husband Ty Wilcox; and great grandson Teigan Wilcox , both of Absarokee, Mont.; 15 great grandchildren; and her caregiver Jolene.
Boba was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
