Ivan was born Aug. 24, 1936 to Beryl Ruth (Moore) and Ross Elmer Nisley in the family home near Bennet, Neb.
Ivan had three older sisters Elaine Yates, Lois Larkins (deceased) and Alice Ficke. Ivan grew up and graduated from high school in Bennet, Neb. He married Beverly Faye Stricker on Oct. 13, 1956 in Omaha, Neb. They lived in a home they built just outside of Bennet for 42 years. During that time, Ivan farmed, worked as a pipe fitter in Lincoln, Neb., and raised three children with his wife.
Country Bible Church near their home was very special to Ivan. He and his wife Bev were involved in the organization of the church and cherish many friends and memories from those years. Ivan retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Lincoln, Neb.
After retirement, Ivan and Bev moved to Columbus, Mont., where they quickly learned to love the community and their amazing church family at Columbus Evangelical. In October of 2016, Ivan and Bev celebrated 60 years of marriage. Ivan loved his family and friends. He loved hunting and his Vizsla dogs. He loved the country and the mountains. He loved his church and community. He had a special place in his heart for Christian Camping, H2O for Live and LaVie. But most of all, Ivan loves Jesus. After 80 years on this earth and a short battle with cancer, Ivan went to be with Jesus on Jan. 13, 2017.
Survivors include beloved wife Beverly; daughter Teri Lee (Nisley) and husband Bruce Moser, Laurel, Mont.; daughter Toni Lynn (Nisley) and husband Mark Dennis, Loveland, Colo.; son Bruce Dale Nisley and wife Sonja (Howard), Powell, Wyo.; Seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ashes will be interned in Bennet Cemetery, Bennet, Neb.
