“I’ve lived a good, full Life!”
Howard Eugene Nordahl, 85, passed away of natural causes May 26, 2015 at home on his farm. A father, grandfather, farmer, cattle rancher, marine, avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed people first, then the great outdoors.
Howard approached life with a positive attitude, quick wit, and a grand smile. Howard truly enjoyed visiting and reminiscing.
Howard was born Nov. 6, 1929, and was raised on his father’s homestead farm during the Depression near Molt, Mont. Howard graduated from Columbus High School in 1947 and was drafted into the Marine Corps to serve in the Korean War.
He married Alice Fradet in 1962, and their union gave him his greatest pride and joy, his three daughters, Marj, Kathy and Bev. His second wife, and love of his life was Neta.
Howard loved John Deere tractors, Gleaner combines, Plymouth cars, Dodge pickups, German Shorthair bird dogs, music, dancing and playing bridge.
Howard was the last survivor of his immediate family, and was preceded in death by his mother (Emma), father (Lyle) and brothers (Donald, Morris, and Kenneth). He built a legacy for his surviving family, his daughters Marjorie (Gary) Ostermiller, Kathleen Nordahl, Beverly (Kasey) Guyer, and grandchildren Amy and Brady Ostermiller and Sophia and Trevor Guyer. We hold his memory dear forever
A tribute and Celebration of Life ceremony with brunch at noon is planned at the Elk’s Club in Billings, Mont., June 28, 2015. Dancing will follow and everyone is welcome. Howard is whistling, dancing, and farming fields of gold in heavenly glory, his body now made perfect in God’s promises.
Memorials in his honor can be made to the Senior Center in Columbus or Molt Fire Department.
