Redle

Evelyn Beth Redle was born in Columbus, Mont., on June 12, 1922 to Otto L. Warddrip Sr. and Olive Bacon Warddrip. She lived on a ranch north of Columbus. Evelyn’s mother died when she was only 2-years-old. Evelyn’s dad remarried when she was five and moved the family to Mobile, Ala.
Otto divorced and put Evelyn and her sister in an orphanage for a time. He remarried and moved the family back to Columbus in 1933, where she lived with her grandparents. She attended Lone Tree School north of Columbus. She then worked for her board and room in Columbus while attending high school. She married Rudy Stark and had three children, later they divorced. In 1950 she married Richard Redle the love of her life and they worked together on the ranch.
Evelyn was a 4-H leader and helped many of the girls learn how to sew and cook. In 1968 Evelyn went to work for Home Interiors and Gifts until her retirement in 1988. While working she was able to travel to Europe and many other places. In 1991 they moved to Columbus and lived there enjoying playing bridge and spending time with their many friends. She is survived by her children James Redle (Joan)Lacy, Wash., Herman Redle (Kathie) Mesa, Ariz., and Ferrol Cutright Billings, Mont., 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and five great great great grands. She is also survived by sisters Eldalee, Mabel and Sharon as well as many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Richard, son-in-law Richard Cutright, grandson Steven Sweet, brother Otto Warddrip and wife Barbara, sister Lillian and Bob Darrah.
Evelyn touched many lives during her life and will be missed. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 30, at the Columbus Community Congregational Church in Columbus. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Columbus Community Congregational Church, the Columbus Senior Center or the Museum of the Beartooths.
