Park City boys 1st, girls 2nd at district

Both teams claim eight first-place finishes

The Park City boys took first place at the District 6C Track Meet at Laurel High School on May 13 with 124 points, while the Panther girls came in second with 123. Broadview-Lavina took first for the girls with 135.
The boys took the podium in eight events – including the 4-by100 relay at 47.17 and the 4-by-400 relay at 3:56.50.
Connor McNeil took first in the 110 hurdles at 16.41, first in the 300 hurdles at 44.20, first in the javelin at 134 feet 9 inches and fourth in the discus at 101 feet 5 inches.
Devon Dennis was first in the 100 meters at 12.07 and first in the 200 meters at 24.33. Brandon Flemmer took first in the 800 meters at 2:13.97, second in the 100 meters at 12.22 and fourth in the 1,600 meters at 5:19.50.
Connor May came in second in the javelin at 132 feet 7 inches and fifth in the 100 meters at 12.62. Rylan Gauthier took third in the high jump at 5 feet 4 inches and third in the triple jump at 37 feet 2 ½ inches. Tyler Miller placed third in the shot put at 36 feet 2 inches, and Seth Popp was sixth in the 110 hurdles at 22.29.
• The Park City girls also topped the podium in eight events. The Panthers were led by Rayna Laakso, who took first in the 100 hurdles at 16.80, first in the long jump at 15 feet 6 inches, second in the high jump at 4 feet 8 inches and third in the 200 meters at 28.31.
Cara Grewell was first in the shot put at 35 feet 10 ¼ inches and first in the discus at 97 feet 3 inches. Shelby Branstetter took first in the 300 hurdles at 50.33 and second in the 100 hurdles at 18.46. Brittany Frank was first in the javelin at 106 feet 8 inches and fifth in the 800 meters at 2:54.68.
MacKinzie Verke was first in the triple jump at 31 feet 9 ¾ inches, fourth in the long jump at 14 feet 8 3./4 inches and fourth in the high jump at 4 feet 4 inches. Blakely Verke came in sixth in the 1,600 meters at 6:32.63 and sixth in the 400 meters at 1:08.96.
The 4-by-100 relay team took first at 54.95, and the 4-by-400 relay team came in third at 4:41.07. Andee Baker was fifth in the 100 meters at 14.30 and sixth in the triple jump at 29 feet 8 inches.
• The Reed Point-Rapelje boys took fourth at 71 points. The Renegades were led by Jordan Marsh, who was first in the discus at 137 feet 6 inches and second in the shot put at 40 feet 11 ½ inches, and by Willem Steinfeldt, who was first in the 1,600 meters at 5:07.71 and fifth in the 800 meters at 2:17.86.
The 4-by-400 relay team placed second at 3:59.55. Trevor Herzog was fourth in the long jump at 17 feet 8 inches, fourth in the javelin at 130 feet 3 inches and sixth in the triple jump at 36 feet 2 ½ inches.
Cade Bare came in fourth in the 400 meters at 58.18 and fourth in the triple jump at 36 feet 5 ¾ inches. Sol Arno placed third in the discus at 111 feet 8 inches and fourth in the shot put at 35 feet 11 ¼ inches. Jeremy Boatman was fourth in the 110 hurdles at 21.17, and Mike Davis was fifth in the shot put at 34 feet 10 ¼ inches.
• The RPR girls came in seventh with 31 points. They were led by Mercedes Hoff, who was second in the 100 meters at 14.09 and fourth in the triple jump at 30 feet 8 ½ inches, and by Jocelyn Ott, who was third in the 100 meters at 14.14, fifth in the 200 meters at 29.87 and sixth in the long jump at 13 feet 10 inches. The 4-by-100 relay team came in second at 56.58. Bianey Ambriz was fifth in the 3,200 meters at 17:04.67.
• The Absarokee girls took fifth with 54 points led by Lauren Milliken, who took first in the 3,200 meters at 13:13.61, second in the 1,600 meters at 6:10.31 and sixth in the 800 meters at 2:59.59.
In the pole vault, Emma Chandler took first at 7 feet 6 inches, Rebecka Lester was second at 7 feet and Emma LaMoure was fourth at 6 feet. Lester also took fifth in the 400 meters at 1:08.70.
The 4-by-100 relay team was third at 56.95, and the 4-by-400 relay team was sixth at 5:02.09. Sydney Copeland came in fifth in the 100 hurdles at 20.92, and Katrina Feddes took fifth in the shot put at 30 feet 2 inches.
• The Husky boys were eighth with 26 points led by Kyle Kirby, who was second in the 400 meters at 56.14 and fifth in the 200 meters at 25.63. Tyler Planichek took third in the pole vault at 9 feet 6 inches, Jake Branger placed third in the 3,200 meters at 11:18.26, Robbie Coleman was fifth in the javelin at 127 feet 4 inches, and the 4-by-400 relay team came in fifth at 4:04.05.
• Next up is the Divisional Meet at Laurel High School on Thursday, May 19. The Class C State Meet will take place at Big Sky High School in Missoula on Friday-Saturday, May 27-28.
