Rouane finishes in 4-way tie for 3rd in state pole vault, Wagner finishers 6th in shot put

The Cougars state placers were Kyla Rouane with a four-way tie for third place in pole vault, clearing 9-6”. Weston Wagner placed 6th in the shot put with a toss of 46- 4.25”.
Both Rouane and Wagner were honored at the spring awards ceremony as the Most Valuable Track and Field male and female. This award is based on the highest points accrued throughout the season, explained Coach Judy Martin. Roaune’s best pole vault this season was 9-7”, which broke the school record she set in 2014, said Martin.
Kenedy Wiggs had a personal record in pole vault clearing 8 feet at state.
And the boys 1600 relay of Padon Little, Noah Daniels , Michael Jacobson and Jack Gray also had set a personal best 3:42.31 at state.
“All the Columbus athletes did a great job competing,” said Martin.
