PC successful at districts
The Park City Panthers showed up to compete at last week’s 6C district track meet, and all the determination and hard work showed in the results. The girls’ team won the meet, and the boys’ team took second, only three points behind Roberts.
Adding to the girls’ victory were the following athletes who earned a place at this week’s divisional track meet:
Rayna Laakso: 100 (1st), 200 (1st), 100 hurdles (2nd), high jump (1st), long jump (2nd)
Blakely Verke: 200 (3rd), 400 (2nd), 800 (2nd), 400 relay (2nd), 1,600 relay (1st)
MacKinzie Verke: 400 relay (2nd), 1,600 relay (1st), high jump (2nd), long jump (5th), triple jump (2nd)
Shelby Branstetter: 100 hurdles (3rd), 300 hurdles (2nd), 400 relay (2nd), 1.600 relay (1st)
Andee Baker: 400 (3rd), 400 relay (2nd), 1,600 relay (1st)
Brittany Frank: shot put (4th), javelin (1st)
Alexis Tryan: 100 hurdles (4th)
Tryan (1,600) and Jacquelyn Jorgenson (300 hurdles) barely missed a spot in divisionals by placing sixth in their events.
Brittany Frank earned an additional honor at the district meet – she broke a school record. The school javelin record was set the week before when Frank broke it for the first time. On Friday, she put her record further out of reach by improving her 127 feet, 8 inch mark to 128 feet.

Rylan Gauthier: 200 (3rd), 400 relay (1st), high jump (2nd), triple jump (3rd)
Connor McNeil: 300 hurdles (1st), 1,600 relay (1st), discus (2nd), javelin (1st)
Jordan Neves: 400 (5th), 1,600 relay (1st)
Eli Larson: 110 hurdles (2nd), 300 hurdles (5th)
Devyn Shakley: 400 relay (1st), javelin (4th)
Seth Popp: high jump (5th)
James Wetmore: 110 hurdles (5th)
Gauthier placed sixth in javelin, barely missing a place in divisionals.
