The Columbus Lady Cougars started the 2018-19 basketball season on the right foot, securing a 6-point victory over the Big Timber Herders in a non-conference match-up last weekend.
The Cougars jumped out to an early 10-6 lead by the end of the first quarter, and the girls fought to keep the upper hand, going into halftime up 23-17. During the third quarter, Big Timber outscored Columbus 19-13 to tie the game at 36 heading into the fourth.
In the final minutes, though, the Cougars were able to create some distance. Columbus won the game 50-44.
