Ann Schott (Peterson)

Ann Schott (Peterson), 81 of Columbus, Mont., passed away June 7, 2022, at the Beartooth Manor in Columbus, Mont.

Ann was born July 18, 1940, in Big Timber, Mont. The daughter of Palmer and Cora (Riesland) Peterson and was raised on the ranch north of Reed Point.

On June 9, 1959, Ann married the love of her life, Alvin Schott in Reed Point, Mont.

They worked together for Telmer Terland Ranch on Bridger Creek and the Drange Ranch on Deer Creek. Ann loved a good horse.

They moved to Columbus. Their son was born in June 23, 1960. Alvin worked for Timberweld and Ann worked for Trygg Drugstore and later started a 22-year journey with the Columbus School system, working as a cook. After which she went to work at Montana Silversmiths. During all this, they ran a very successful lawn business. Upon retirement, they enjoyed going down south for the win ter, camping, hunting and fishing. Ann was a very accomplished cook and baker. She loved playing cards, good music and spending time with family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Cora Peterson, little brother, Arnold (Arnie) Peterson, her daughter-in-law Mary Alice Schott and her husband Alvin Schott.

Ann is survived by her son Archie Schott and her two granddaughters Sarah and Denise; her brother Dave (Rose) Peterson and her sister Thelma (Bob) Barnum and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Grave side services will be held on Monday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at the Reed Point cemetery.

Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.
