On Sept. 30, 2021, Dorcas Atzbach put on her dancing shoes and went to be with her Lord, and Hank, her loving husband.

Dorcas was born in Saint Paul, Minn., on Good Friday, April 14, 1933, the only child of Henry and Rose Nasch.

Over the years, Dorcas lived in Minnesota, Germany, Ohio, California, North Carolina and her final stop, Montana. Dorcas had a simple life — she worked briefly as a laboratory technician, but the focus of her life was raising two children as a stay-at-home mom. In later years, she worked as a customer service representative for Aetna, where she stayed until she retired.

Dorcas was devout Lutheran and enjoyed going to holiday smorgasbords. She loved dancing with her Hank, and she really loved watching cardinals and hummingbirds in her yard.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Rick) Cox and son William (Julie) Strater Jr.; grandsons Steven (Erica) Steffenson, Jonathan (Jenny) Steffenson, Jeremy (Christie) Strater and Chris (Lisa) Strater and 11 great grandchildren.

We can’t express enough gratitude to Beartooth Manor and Stillwater Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to Dorcas during her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. James Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at 10 a.m.
