Generosity was the theme of the fifth annual MTGives online fundraising event, which brought in an astounding $105,160.58 for 12 local non-profit groups the week of May 4 through May 8.

“This far exceeded the (Columbus Community) Foundation’s expectations due to current events and economic uncertainty,” said CCF member Amy Sjostrom. “But once again, when there is a need, our community steps up. We are humbled and truly blessed to live in this great community and state!”

The top four recipients of donations in order were the Stillwater Youth Center, Project Hope, the Museum of the Beartooths and the Columbus Community Foundation.

Total online donations amounted to $27,576.40.

Match donations totaled $17,500, with a last minute donor (Stillwater Wind) increasing the match pool over previous years.

Other match donors were Sibanye-Stillwater, First Interstate Bank, Yellowstone Bank, Farmers Insurance and Northwestern Energy. Cash Donations received via mail and drop-off at Yellowstone Bank totalled $60,109.18, according to Sjostrom.
