David Shevela

David F. Shevela, 61, of Columbus, died peacefully on May 11, 2020. Dave was born Aug. 13, 1958 to Ron and Virginia Shevela of Glendive, Mont. Dave is one of four children. Ron and Virginia had Lois Haggerty (Larry), Dave Shevela (Barb), Carol Torno (Craig), and Miles Shevela (Lynn).

On Sept. 11, 1982, Dave married the love of his life, Barb. They would have shared their 38th anniversary this year. They were blessed with two boys. Luke Shevela (Raven Songer) and Ethan Shevela (Annamiek Frost), and two grandkids: Kash and Tyce Shevela. Dave held a special spot in his heart for Kash and Tyce. Dave had numerous nieces and nephews that he loved.

Dave loved everything about the outdoors — hunting, fishing, camping and 4-four wheeling with his family.

He enjoyed being outside. As soon as the weather warmed up you could find Dave and Barb at campgrounds in Montana or Wyoming. While outdoors he found a new passion for photography. He would spend long hours waiting to capture the perfect shot of the beautiful landscape during any season or magnificent wildlife in or around the National Parks.

Dave worked at Sibanye-Stillwater mine for 25 years and enjoyed laughing and joking with the many friends he made over the years. Dave is preceded in death by many friends and family. Dave’s other family includes: mother in-law Lucille McEntire, brother in-law Tom McEntire (Linda) and sister in-law Sharon Brockway (Lee).

He will be missed by many but never forgotten. The family would like to thank all the staff of Billings Clinic and Stillwater Billings Clinic and a special thank you to Dr. Cody White of Stillwater Billings Clinic for the compassion and care he provided Dave and his family.

A public viewing will be held at Smith’s Funeral Home (Columbus) on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
