Friday will bring Valentine’s Day 2020.

It’s a day for letting your other half, kids, friends and even pets know you care. It’s also a pretty impressive day for card, candy and flower sales. According to the Petal Talk blog, here are some fun facts:

•More than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolates are sold across the country.

•Men spend an average of $130 on Valentine’s Day gifts, while woman spend about $70.

•Approximately 9 million people buy their pets a Valentine’s Day gift.

•Feb. 14 is the second largest card giving day of the year, just after Christmas. This year’s card-count is expected to hit 1 billion.

•Teachers are the biggest recipients of Valentine’s Day cards, followed by kids, mothers, wives and girlfriends.

•Hallmark was one of the first greeting card companies to mass produce a Valentine’s Day card in 1913.

•In the United States alone, $3.3 billion will be spent on flowers, which ranks it second behind Mother’s Day.
