Granite Peak Playground gets big boost

The Town Pump Charitable Foundation presented the Granite Peak Playground steering committee with 525,000 donation for the p lay ground last month.

The Granit e Peak Play -

ground project, supported by the Columbus Community Foundation, has been workin g to raise funds for construction

at the Granit e Peak Sport s comp lex, near the baseball fields.

Last September, a designer from Leathers and Associates worked with local children "to

drea m and share ideas to include in the playground desi gn. Then the designer inc orporated the ideas into a unique design for our itel"

The fundraisin g goal for the project is $150,000. Shaw said

rat businesses have already shown support for the project. The steering team is looking to schedule a build

date in the fall,
