Ray Green

Heaven gained an amazing man on Jan. 13, 2020.

Alton Ray Green was born on Jan. 14, 1949, to Tollie and Vera Green in Brewton Ala.

Ray loved his country and served as a military police officer in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He met the love of his life, Connie Bettis, in 1969, and they married on June 27, 1970. They were happily married for almost 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Connie Green; his three daughters Jennifer Green, Sheila (Kenton) DeVries, and Teri (Patrick) Geehan; his grandchildren Gina Rushford, Kelsey Rushford, Jordan House, Kelli House, Abigail Geehan and Micayla Hynson; his great-grandchildren Landon Pattyn, Addison Pattyn and Annabelle Brown; his sisters Margaret Baxley, Evon Nowling, and many many nephews and nieces. Ray loved his family very much.

Ray was the kindest man with a huge, caring heart. He was very hard working and enjoyed spending time with his family. He made many friends while living and working in Columbus. He will be deeply missed by many and remembered fondly by everyone.

The family has honored Ray’s wishes with a private family gathering to celebrate his life.
