Halloween festivities are about to get kick-started into high-gear this Saturday and run throughout next week, with events for both kids and adults in Fishtail, Columbus and Reed Point.

Saturday – Oct. 26

•The Fishtail General Store will holds its annual kids Halloween party from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your kiddos (and yourselves!) decked out in Halloween attire.

•The Reed Point Fall Festival runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a corn hole/cupcake walk, a dodge ball tournament, Throw-A-Pie-At-A-Teacher, “jail,” competitive BINGO, petting zoo, hayrides and more. There is a small entry fee that covers most of the games.

Sunday - Oct. 27

A “Halloween Dinner and Dance” at the Columbus Congregational Church gets underway at 5 p.m. in the basement of the church and features a taco bar, costume contest for kids and adults. A donation entry fee is requested, with proceeds going to help with school children’s lunch debt.

Thursday – Oct. 31

The Columbus business-to-business trick-or-treating event will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event is sponsored by the News and involves participating businesses handing out candy to costumed kids. More than 33 businesses are already signed up and a list of these businesses will be provided to Columbus Elementary School classrooms. This is fun event for businesses, kids and parents.
