Gairrett family friend Holly Hansen is hoping to fill this specially made bag with fun actitivies for the 10-year-old.

A total of $2,593 was raised for Columbus Elementary School 5th-grader Kolemen Gairrett at the school’s recent basket raffle fundraiser.

“This was a huge success and we are so thankful to be part of such a caring community,” said CES principal Marlene Deis.

Kolemen’s little sister, Kinsley, drew all of the winning tickets. The winners are as follows:

The Gairrett fFamily also expressed their gratitude through Kolemen’s Courage Facebook page.

“Our hearts are so full from all the support of the teachers, classmates and their families. You are all so wonderful!❤ Thank you again to everyone! Kolemen will get to FaceTime all his classmates tomorrow to thank them and to chat a bit.”

Family friends Holly and Travis Hansen are assembling a specialized care package for Kolemen and are inviting anyone who wants to contribute. Holly Hansen, who sells Thirty One Gifts, has created a “Kolemen’s Courage” bag that the couple hopes to fill with fun activities for the 10-year-old to do as he continues radiation treatment in Colorado for a brain tumor.

“Kolemen likes anything to do with sports and Legos!!! Letters would be a great addition as well,” Holly wrote on a Facebook post.

All contributions can be dropped off at Hansen’s Thirty One Gifts booth at this weekend’s Swap N Shop at the Stillwater Pavilion, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bag will be sent to Kolemen with his dad, Paul, on Monday.

Medical Update From Mom

Now almost three weeks into a 7-week radiation treatment program, Lindy Gairrett said Wednesday that Kolemen is doing very well.

“He is doing really good. He is is a trooper,” said Lindy.
