Lady Huskies off to divisionals
After a week to rest and prepare, the Absarokee Lady Huskies are ready for this weekend. Thursday through Saturday will see Class C girls Southern Divisional action at Custer County High School in Miles City. Absarokee goes into the tournament as the 6C fourth seed. The Huskies will kick-off tournament play Thursday at 1 p.m. against Wibaux, the first seed from the 4C district. Coach Jimmie Lester said Wibaux should be a good match-up for Absarokee, noting that “if we can control the tempo, we should be able to get a win.” The players have been working hard during the off-week between districts and divisionals, and he mentioned that the girls are excited to take the court. “Coach Feddes and I are really proud of the players and managers this year,” Lester explained. “We feel like they are up to the challenge this weekend.” A win Thursday afternoon would send the Huskies to the semifinals on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. to face the winner of the Harlowton-Terry game. A first-round loss would bump Absarokee to a loser-out game against the Harlow-Terry loser on Friday at 1 p.m.
