I was the publisher of four newspapers — Absarokee, Columbus, Bridger and Red Lodge — when I first became acquainted with Blair Jones. He was an outstanding county attorney and I sincerely believed he had the integrity to become an outstanding judge. Whatever his politics were, he would leave them at the door as he became a nonpartisan arbiter of justice. He never disappointed.

I have the same confidence about Ray Kuntz, who I knew when I was the Beartooth Bureau chief for The Billings Gazette. I’m not even sure I ever recognized what party affiliation Kuntz had but I am confident it doesn’t matter as he seeks election as a nonpartison judge.

So I am voting and urge others to vote for Ray Kuntz for Judge in District 22. He has represented clients in Stillwater, Carbon and Bighorn Counties for 21 years. In addition to extensive experience with criminal cases—everything from minors-in-possession to homicide — Kuntz has handled a broad range of civil cases, from family law to water rights, with compassion and common sense.

Ray Kuntz has his head on straight and his feet on the ground. His commitment and integrity have always been plain to see in his dedication to community service. He will continue to serve us well as district judge.
