Michael Pulse

We’re all asking ourselves, “Why did God take such a great man so soon?”

Well, we can find comfort in the words that Mike lived by, “If you’re not early…..you are LATE!”

Mike’s journey began on Jan. 20, 1962 . He was born in Billings, Mont., to Jack Alden and Betty Raye Pulse. He was the ninth child born into the Pulse family...with siblings Sherry, Larry, Cora, Jeannie, Jacquie, Guy, Tracy, Craig, Bill and Gary.

He grew up and graduated from Forsyth High School in 1980. Mike proudly served his country, in the Army National Guard as a non-commissioned officer and furthered his education at the University of Montana, in Missoula. He began his career in the tire business in Missoula and was transferred to Denver, Colo., around 1990.

It turns out, that was the best career move he ever made, because on Jan. 23, 1996, he started a new job on the very same day as the future love of his life, Roberta Jean Pulse. Mike and Roberta began as colleagues and became very close friends. Eventually, they were everything to one another and married. Together they built a beautiful and loving family. Mike and Roberta shared a very rare love story. He was a beautiful soul. He was a family man and amazing member of the Columbus community. Mike was incredibly generous with his heart and his time. If you needed him, he would be there, even if you were a perfect stranger.

Mike was funny, sharp, quick witted and an amazing storyteller...especially when sharing stories about his friends and family. Although he stood six and a half feet tall, his most infectious feature was his giant smile. Mike’s charismatic personality made him a friend to all.

Mike was an avid golfer. If you couldn’t find him at the Ford store or tire shop, you could track him down at the golf course. He was a valued member of Stillwater Golf and Recreation and served on the board.

On May 3, 2020, after spending a beautiful day with Roberta and his grandkids, Mike went to sleep on earth and woke up in heaven. He went into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where he will be waiting for all of the love’s of his life to join him for eternity.

Mike was welcomed into heaven by his mom and dad (Jack and Betty), his mother-in-law (Jean Smith), and several of his siblings (Sherry, Guy, Tracy, Craig and Jacquie). Although Mike will always be missed here on earth, he will be cherished in heaven.

Mike is survived by his wife and soulmate Roberta Jean Pulse. He also leaves behind his children Michael and Taylor Knepp, Charity Watkins, Dillon Pulse, Alden Pulse, Derek Steffenson, his six adored grandkids, Lucille, Cooper, Salem, Renleigh, Ryle and Rueger and his bonus children Tana, Stone, Rae and Cort. He leaves behind four siblings, Gary (Beth) Pulse, Larry (Carol) Pulse, Cora (Robert) Myers, and Bill (Lisa) Pulse. He is also survived by his father-in-law Jim Smith, sister-in-law Kelli (Tim) Brummet, his brothers-in-law Mike Smith and Pat (Elena) Smith, his work families at Beartooth Ford and Columbus Tire and numerous nieces and nephews.

Happy trails to you, old friend...until we meet again.
