Mike Orlich

On Sept. 29, 2022 the final stock market bell rang and Mike went to join his parents, Ray and Bev Miotke and Butch Orlich, for a family reunion.

Mike was born in Butte, Mont., on Feb. 17, 1970, to Michael “Butch” and Bev Orlich. Mike graduated from Butte High School in 1988 and then went on to attend College of Southern Idaho on a track scholarship, where he graduated with a business finance degree.

Upon graduation from college in 1992, Mike moved to Spokane, Wash., where he resided until his death. While in Spokane, Mike made many friendships throughout the years and it would take thousands of pages to list his many friends.

Mike was a die-hard Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Vikings fan from a very young age - long before he could spell either team’s name! Through good and bad he never gave up on his teams and he now has season tickets for both teams.

Mike often said that the best birthday present he ever received was when his mom married Ray Miotke one day before his 10th birthday in 1980. Mike and Ray shared a very special bond like no other.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Bev Miotke and Butch Orlich, along with grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Survivors include sister Michele Orlich (Absarokee, Mont.);, daughter Carlee Piekarski (Boise, Idaho); special friend Dee Jones, Spokane, Wash., and her daughter and granddaughter; 13 aunts, uncles and their spouses along with numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers Mike’s family requests memorials be made to Kruizin’ 4 Seniors, Inc. PO Box 67 Absarokee, MT 59001 to continue the mission of providing Christmas gifts to elderly in that area.

Mike will be reunited with his parents, Ray and Bev, at a private family gathering at the Silver Star, Mont., cemetery. A luncheon / celebration of Mike’s life will be held Nov. 5, 2022 at the McQueen Athletic Club 3250 Hecla St. Butte, MT at 1 p.m.

You are now flying with the angels baby brother!!
