Norman Bruce

Norm passed away at his home on Nov. 13, 2020. He was born on June 22, 1942, in Helena, where he lived until moving to Chester during High School. He worked and managed various grain elevators in Montana for 42 years, including Chester, Bozeman, Huntley and Columbus.

Norm always enjoyed a good cup of coffee. You could find him every morning, with customers and friends, enjoying some lively conversation.

He had a quick wit and was known for his great sense of humor. Sports were also an important part of his life, and he enjoyed supporting the local teams. He especially loved to play golf. If he wasn’t at home or work, you could find him on a fairway, or maybe in the rough, on one of his favorite courses.

Norm is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia, and his six children: Norlynn (Dirk) Nelson, Kathy (Ken) Adams, Janine Eoff, James “Buck” Bruce, Amy (Jay) Fortun, and Sarah (Jeremy) Daul, as well as 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Project Hope, both in Columbus, MT. A private memorial service has been planned.
