The Christmas Star was seen Monday night in the southwest sky. Called the “Great Conjunction” by NASA, it is created by the solar system’s two largest planets — Jupiter and Saturn — passing in relative close proximity of one another. The two planets hadn’t passed so closely in 400 years and nearly 800 years since that had occurred at night, according to NASA. It was also these planets that Christians believe led wiseman to the birth place of Jesus.
