On Monday Dec. 20, 2021, Sara Preece was reunited with Rickey and Curtis.

Sara Preece was born in Dillon, Mont., to Kalman and Geraldine Chambers. She grew up in the Whitehall area attending Cardwell school and then graduating from Whitehall.

On July 5, 1969, she married Rickey Preece. They had two sons, Todd and Curtis, whom they raised in Whitehall as well.

Her life with Rickey was quite an adventure to say the least. They enjoyed camping and gatherings with family and friends. Sara’s closest friend was her mom. Sara said that they would often come out wearing the same or very similar outfits and shoes when they were going shopping.

Soon after Sara was diagnosed with MS, she retired from the Whitehall School Dis trict. Although MS was difficult to deal with, she persevered, teaching herself to paint amazing portraits and do everything left handed. She lived independently until her hospitalization one month prior to her passing.

Sara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Todd Preece and Melany Preece; her daughter-in-law Christy Preece; grandchildren Ricky Preece, Vann Preece and Maddison Preece: her sister Barbara and Bob Bowman, Mike and Mindy Bowman and family, Kassie and Skip Lusty and family; sister-in-law Margaret Chambers, Katrina White and family, Crystal DeFord and family and Tracy Jordan and family.

Sara is preceded in death by her husband Rickey Preece, son Curtis Preece, father Kalman (Bud) Chambers, mom Geraldine Chambers and brother Tom Chambers.

A gathering will take place next spring/summer at her favorite camping place at Miners Lake. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to National MS Society or the donors choice.
