Student letter project

Thursday, June 7, 2018

Casey Olsen’s sophomore English class at Columbus High School spent the fourth quarter of this school year researching issues they found personally interesting. Students worked individually or in small groups to research all angles of the issue and then develop their position based on the evidence. Each letter represents a considerable amount of research.

While the views expressed in these student letters to the editor do not necessarily represent the views of their teacher or their school district, these letters do represent the quality research and argument writing skills that Olsen aims to develop through the literacy curriculum at CHS.

Editor’s Note: Student letters will be featured in upcoming issues of SCN until all of them have been published.
