Top 10 reasons to visit the Stillwater County Library

10. CHECK OUT BOOKS:

And magazines. And movies. We have more than 25,000 items available to check out. Do you want to learn how to build a chicken coop? Would you like to read the latest best-selling murder mystery? Is your vision less than 20/20?

Do you have a toddler who you like to read pictures books to at bedtime? Does your elementary school child need to do research on cats? Is your teenager grounded and need something to read to pass the time? Like westerns?

Do you want to browse a magazine? What about watch a few movies? All that is available at your local library! We also belong to a sharing consortium so if we don’t have what you’re looking for, you have access to over 1 million titles through 35 other libraries in the state.

9. REGULAR

PROGRAMMING

We offer weekly programming like Storytime, Moms & Tots, Chapter Champions, and a Saturday Movie Matinee. Throughout the year we also have various tech classes and teach a genealogy series.

8. GREAT IDEA PROGRAMMING

The staff has an idea board where we write down our lightbulb ideas. We then plan and implement these amazing programs, such as our Paint Night, trivia night, and upcoming Cribbage Tournament.

7. CHILDREN’S

SPACE

Literacy is fostered by books and hands-on play. We encourage this by having a great selection of children’s books, as well as manipulatives. Kids can come put on a puppet show, pretend to be chefs with our kitchen, build with our magnetic tiles, and create with our endless supply of Legos.

6. ONLINE RESOURCES

The Library has great resources available at the click of a mouse button. Our Infobase subscription allows you to enjoy amazing databases such as: Career Guidance Center, Health Reference Center, Today’s Science, Issues & Controversies, World News Digest, and Writer’s Reference Center. We have a WorldBook Online subscription and BookFlix. There is also web access to the Montana Cadastral, Montana Field Guide, and the Montana Memory Project.

5. COMPUTERS / WIFI

If your computer is on the fritz, you can come use one of ours. We have Microsoft Office installed on all of our 6 public access computers. You can also utilize our wifi on your own laptop, tablet, or phone.

4. FAX / COPY / SCAN

Do you need to send or receive a fax? It’s $1. You can print or make black and white copies for $.10 a page. Scanning is free!

3. COFFEE

With the weather getting colder, stop in for a cup of coffee or tea from our Keurig. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is available for $1.

2. THE STAFF

The staff is here to provide each and every patron a spectacular library experience. We do this through excellent customer service, giving book suggestions, assisting with various technology and so much more.
