Weekend bursting with holiday fun

This weekend will be perhaps the busiest the holiday season will have in Stillwater County.

Friday, Dec. 6, is the annual Absarokee Snowflake Festival which features open houses, a wreath contest, pictures with Santa, a parade, a spaghetti dinner at the Absarokee Senior Center, the Snowflake run and more.

Saturday will bring another event to Absarokee with the Cobblestone Winter Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors from around the state will be present, as will food concession with the popular homemade soups, homemade rolls and desserts. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

And Sunday will bring the wildly popular Sunday -Project Hope Kids’ Shopping Day from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stillwater County fairgrounds. This event is for kids in grades K though fifth and allows them to buy up to five gifts with just $3.

Also on Sunday is Nye Gets Lit at the Nye Community Foundation starting at 5 p.m. at the Nye Fire Hall. Chili, chicken noodle soup, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and entertainment are on tap.

In the north county Sunday will be Molt’s Volunteer Rural Fire Department’s chili and stew dinner: This annual event starts at 5 p.m. ad the Molt Community Center. Dinner will be followed by a live auction of crafts, baked goods and other items. There is a charge for the dinner.
