Noel was born early Christmas day in Rapelje, Mont. on Dec. 25, 1936, to Fred and Thelma (Dickover) Wodrich. He was the third of three brothers. Brothers Bob and Don, as well as several cousins, were not allowed to get up early and open their Christmas presents. A fact still mentioned to this day.

He was raised in Rapelje and attended Rapelje High School. On Aug. 26, 1956, Noel married his high school sweetheart, Donna Bondurant, in the Rapelje Evangelical Church.

They started their life together in Billings in a small apartment and he started his truck driving career. few years later they moved back to Rapelje where he bought a house and expanded it to become a home.

He did a number of things during his life, iincluding driving semi to haul cattle across the states, working in the oil and gas fields and even running the Rapelje Farmers Union Station.

In 1966, Noel and Donna purchased the ranch from his father-in-law, Roy Bondurant, and settled in to raise pigs and cattle. To make ends meet, he worked for his bother Bob. Later he did custom haying for a number of years helping area ranches in northern Stillwater County.

He had a creative, mechanical mind and welded many creations in his lifetime. He was always willing to help people build things around the Rapelje area and was good at finding ways to repair things.

Noel was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob.

He is survived by his wife Donna of 64.5 years; daughter, Tammy (Jim) Roberts of Billings and son Tim (AJ) Wodrich of Reiles Acres, N.D.; four grandchildren, John Roberts of Billings, Justin (Jenny) Roberts of Bozeman, Mont., Genevieve and Elizabeth Wodrich of Reiles Acres. He is also survived by his brother Don of Richland, Wash., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at

Smith Funeral Chapel in Billings at a later date followed by a private burial service in the Rapelje cemetery.

The family of Noel Wodrich wishes to thank the Stillwater & Billings Clinics, Morning-Star Senior Living of Billings and Stillwater Hospice in helping him to prepare for his last drive.

A community coffee and celebration will be held in Rapelje later in the year. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Lake Basin Seniors to help remodel the Rapelje Stockman Café.
