Frank Allan Yorke, age 73, passed away on Oct. 9, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in March of 1946 in Ontario, Canada, to Josephine and Victor Yorke. He moved to Butte, Mont., in 1973, where he met his wife, Shirley, whom he has been married to for 44 years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting in his extra time. He was an instant friend to everyone he encountered. He earned his U.S. Citizenship in 2001, one of the proudest moments of his life. Another passion of his was mining. He retired from Stillwater Mine in 2016 after working in the mining industry for 52 years.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his wife Shirley; six sisters, six brothers, nine daughters, four sons, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial for Frank will be held on Nov. 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Stillwater Pavilion (Little Metra, 328 East Fifth Avenue North) in Columbus, Mont., Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring your families.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you make a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital.
