Absarokee’s Snowflake Festival this Friday

Absarokee is the place to be this Friday, with the celebration of the Snowflake Festival.

The fun starts at 10 a.m. and goes until midnight (see schedule below). The predicted high Friday is just 34 degrees, but as of Wednesday, no snow or rain was expected.

Pick up a Snowflake Map and collect 15 or more participating merchant stamps to be eligible to win $50 Absarokee Area Merchants Association (AAMA). Collect all the stamps for a chance to win $500 AAMA.

The schedule of events is as follows:

*10 a.m. to 7 p.m.: New item samples at the Fishtail General Store, wreath making contest at the MainStreet Commons, a gingerbread house decorating contest at the Dew Drop Inn and open houses at Yellowstone and First Interstate banks

*3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: PTA K-4th grade youth dance at the Cobblestone

*3 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Pictures with Santa at First Interstate Bank

*3 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Hayrides

*3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Walking Taco special at Touch of Country

*4:30 p.m.: Registration for Dashing through the Snowflake Run (Absarokee Elementary School)

*5:30 p.m.: Dashing Through the Snowflake Run (Absarokee Elementary School)

*5 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Spaghetti dinner at the Stillwater Senior Center

*6 p.m.: Lighted parade, followed by fireworks

*7 p.m. to 9 p.m.: PTA 5th-8th grade youth dance at the Cobblestone

*7 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Christmas karaoke at The Chrome

*7 p.m. to Midnight: Dance to a DJ at the 5 Spot
