You will be hard-pressed to find more summer fun in one place other than Park City Days this Saturday.

Put on by the Park City Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary, the annual event gets underway with breakfast and the start of the fun run at 7:30 a.m. The car show will go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire hall, with the parade at 10 a.m.

The fun then moves to the high school football field, with a kids carnival, bingo and family games. New this year will be a human foosball table and a life-size Jenga game.

Family movie night at the field will be at 9:30 with the showing of “The Sandlot.” Food and drinks during the movie will be available through the Park City FFA, with the proceeds going to help fund the club’s 2020 summer trip to Costa Rica.

Organizers will also have shade tents set up at the football field to help with the heat.

The remaining proceeds will go to the Park City Fire Department and Fire Auxiliary, to help with the purchase of safety equipment as well as meals to firefighters working calls.

Thanks to donations and fundraisers, the department recently was able to purchase a new pair of battery-powered extrication too, as well as a new sets of structure firefighting gear for every member.

Also taking place this weekend is the 7th Annual Let It Ride Softball Tournament in Columbus on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3 and 4, at Granite Peak Park.

In addition to the softball tournament, the first annual cornhole tournament will make its debut on Saturday at 9 a.m. All proceeds go to the Columbus Area Trails to enjoy a safe place to walk, run or bike.

All participants must be at least 14 and anyone under the age of 18 needs written permission from a parent or guardian to play.
