Turning a personal tragedy into a positive

Wednesday, November 27, 2019

I am responding to the beautiful article that I received yesterday from Crystal Arnold, headlined “Pay it Forward.”

Sometimes the greatest tragedies in our lives are turned around to become blessings to others. While my dear son, Chase Shott’s tragic death, and the hole in my life, will always be part of me, I have been fortunate enough to meet many wonderful people that have added a new layer to the fabric of the rest of my life.

I am humbled, grateful, and honored.

My goal became trying to “pay it forward” while also honoring Chase’s life and memory. Being able to help the SAR team purchase equipment to help in future missions is the most awesome use of the donated funds of my One Glove~One Love Chase Shott Memorial that I can imagine.

If you are looking for a cause to donate to as the year end approaches, please consider the Stillwater County SAR (Search and Rescue). I hope you all feel the loving, adventurous spirit of Chase around you as you continue forward.
